Privacy
Last updated 2026-10-13. This page describes what the deployed code actually does.
Your folder stays on your device
When you open a folder, your browser reads the files and this page builds an index in the tab. Nothing is uploaded. There is no server storage for vault contents on this site — it is not switched off, it does not exist. The deployment has no database attached for it, by design, because a store that exists is a store someone eventually writes to.
You can check this yourself. Open your browser's network panel, load a folder, and watch. Our own test does exactly that: it captures every request the page makes and fails the build if any of them contains text from the vault.
What leaves the page at all
Three things, none of which carry your notes:
- The page's own files — HTML, script, stylesheet, icons, translations.
- One request asking whether you are signed in. It has no body.
- Nothing else.
What is kept between visits
Only your language choice, in your own browser. Closing the tab clears the index; opening the folder again rebuilds it. We do not keep a copy.
The fingerprint
The page computes a single fingerprint of the whole folder so you can tell later whether it is the same folder. That computation happens on your device, and the fingerprint is shown to you — it is not sent anywhere.
